About The SEO Coach
Hi, I'm Dan Thies... if you don't know me already, stick around and you will. I'm the author and publisher of Search Engine Optimization Fast Start, and the author of SitePoint's Search Engine Marketing Kit.
I have been blogging at SitePoint for a while, and I expect to continue posting there as long as they allow it. I've created this blog for a few big reasons:
- It's mine. My ideas, my opinions, my advice, my mistakes, my way.
- To share. Little tidbits of advice, stuff to make you think, my honest opinion.
- To build. An audience, a community, a philosophy, an approach.
- To help. Your website, your online marketing, your success.
- To improve. The SEM industry, the practice of SEO, the signal to noise ratio.

Hi Dan, my name is Pedro Dominguez, I came here from your newsletter. I´ve read the SEO Fast Start a couple of weeks ago and I think is a great starting guide for people like me, involved in computer and internet world but with litle or nothing of knowledge about Search Engines Internals. I`m at Spain and I want to ask you if the topics about google and the Jagger Changes are "Language-Globals" or only for English language. There are some seo research in Spanish?.
Thanks for the clear statement of purpose. Giving us Mac people our own instructions and download is a nice touch. Last newsletter on article submission was fantastic.
Pedro,
As far as I can tell, the changes Google is making are not specific to one language. They still aren't done yet, so we're just waiting to see how it shakes out before we can really figure out how to react.
Hi Dan!
Have come across your keyword research service a few times and your courses - watched one of your videos too!
Great to see you with your own blog - some great posts so far - added you to my feed reader - looking forward to your posts!
My condolences on the loss of your business partner.
Pedro - there is a list of spanish language blogs - some of them related to SEO on SEO by the Sea. You need to go right down towards the end of the page on the right hand column.
Dan - thanks in advance for investing your time and thought in what I am sure will be a fantastic resource!
I say go for the coffee mug. However, one thing I have noticed at many large conventions is that everyone wants a bag to carry all of their goodies in. For some reason no one gives out nice little bags.
I have a question regarding SEO stuff. Are there programs that are similar to ClickTracks that are worth looking at? I'm new to the SEO world and have been reading everything I can get my hands on.
Thanks!
I'm using Clicktracks, but you should also look at Indextools, Nettracker, Webtrends. There are no doubt plenty of others.
